The story of SelfEvol

Born from an urgent need

The story

As a child, I experienced bullying, loneliness, and a deep disconnection from my body. I often felt there was no space where I could truly express who I was.

Then I discovered the stage.

Theatre and dance became places where I could breathe, move, and find my voice. Driven by curiosity, I would travel alone from my hometown to attend a single workshop, returning the same day. Each experience brought me closer to myself.

The initiative

I discovered that my journey reflected the experiences of many people who had never been encouraged to express their authentic selves. From that realization, Self Evol was born.

Through workshops, coaching, and online programs, Self Evol has nurtured a growing community committed to self-discovery, authentic expression, and personal transformation.

The founder

Asmae Fegnaoui

Choreographer and performer, trained in street arts, circus and dance at Théâtre Nomade in Casablanca.

Laureate of the Taklîf Prize 2024 for young Moroccan choreographers, with creative residencies at Le Carreau du Temple (Paris), Montpellier Danse and CCN Ballet du Nord (Roubaix). Her work explores identity, femininity and transformation — and everything she learns on stage comes back into the workshops.
